Introduction

In the best location, only 5 minutes from the airport and close to a motorway connecting it to the main towns of the island, Playa de Palma is the perfect base for exploring every corner of the Island. The resort starts from C'an Pastilla and stretches until Arenal; there is one long unbroken fine, sandy beach to take you all the way along. The great advantage of Playa de Palma is its proximity to Palma, Mallorca's capital, with many excellent restaurants, great shopping and lively nightlife.

Location

Playa de Palma is on the island's south coast, an excellent choice for a seaside holiday. The picturesque marina and palm-lined promenade are perfect for a relaxing stroll and there is a varied selection of open-air cafes and shops. There are plenty of bars and disco's, whilst those looking for nightlife; keep towards C'an Pastilla for more low-key nightlife and a taste of home. C'an Pastilla is also the closest resort to Palma and therefore ideal for those wishing to explore the island's attractive capital. Transfer time from Palma airport is approximately 15 minutes.

General Information

There is plenty to keep you occupied in the resorts, which are just a stroll away from each other. For starters there is a beach of soft, white sand stretching away as far as the eye can see accompanied by a smart promenade in Playa de Palma, a harbour and marina full of expensive yachts plus another curving beach at Ca'n Pastilla. Off the beaches, both resorts offer a wealth of shops, bars, cafes and very lively nightlife.

Where to go

Big efforts have been made, and are upheld to maintain the area to a good standard. The main attraction is the beach, but more and more visitors find it good fun to rent a bicycle and ride along the bicycle route from Arenal to Palma de Mallorca.

Entertainment

Playa de Palma is relatively child friendly, but bear in mind that the night life can become very lively at nights. There are a number of aqua parks and a marine land in the vicinity, and a good minigolf facility in Palma Nova. There are also 2 golf courses approximately 8 kilometres away.

Sports

You can choose between activities such as waterskiing, windsurfing, tennis, squash, riding, minigolf, go-karting, hire of rollerblades and bicycles. There is also a small outdoor area that is used for cycling.

Comments

The pleasant promenade was built a few years ago, meaning that traffic has been removed from the water front area. Now it is popular for cycling and walking. Along this stretch, you find very many small bars, restaurants and typical tourist shops.
