A minute of History
Originally a prehistoric settlement and then a trading centre of the Phoenicians, Greeks and Carthaginians. In it’s bloody history it was subject to many attacks from the Moors, Dutch, English and Spanish. Portimão is now a thriving city with a beautiful shopping center. Bars and cafes surround the harbour.
