Where to go
It is a peaceful area, with very natural surroundings and has a lovely scenery. There are some very interesting places in Cala Santanyi. In the bay itself is a slipway with the boathouses of the fishermen. There is a lovely underwater cave that is a must-do for qualified divers. There is no doubt however the most famous landmark in Cala Santanyi is "Es Pontas", a stone arch carved out by the force of the waves.
Nature
The coves in this area are especially attractive with small ponds in which several types of orchids grow and sand dunes can be seen in this area.
Many types of waterfowl can be seen, especially in the wetlands.
North of this protected area is Portopetro, where you can go on visits to the archipelago of Cabrera, the Balearic Islands' only national park.
Comments
Santanyi has much to offer, with some of the best unspoilt beaches on the island. Ideal for those wishing to stay in a relaxed environment.
